Hi, I'm setting up Studio one artist again. For some reason I can only get my mixer with mic recording if I also use the mixer as output. I cannot use a separate separate audio output and select my Mackie mixer as audio input? Can you help?

I have Studio One 6 Pro and I don't see the template you used here. Also how did you get your tempo off?

Hi, I have a problem when I connect my audio interface to my PC, it generates a lot of noise like electrical interference, very annoying noise, and I can't make clean recordings. I am using the AUDIOBOX USB 96 interface and the RODE PODMIC dynamic microphone, but nothing I do seems to work. Thank you. 😊

I used playlists in pro tools to keep alternate edits in the same session such as radio edits, it let me be able to make changes to automation and take care of client mix notes and be able to bounce mixes with less hassle.

This is great! I used Cakewalk for the last 15 years, recently ported over to Studio One, and I was really missing the dedicated bus for the metronome in Cakewalk. If I wanted to adjust the level of the click, I was going into the metronome settings and changing the sliders. Very annoying. I had no idea the Master bus has a little volume control for the click, that'll be handy moving forward. Thanks so much!

Very cool! Recently getting into re-recording and doing a better job now that I know a bit more and these pops/clicks really jumped out today.. talk about timing Mr G!!! Great technique!!!! Would love to know if this is perhaps the dropout protection needed lowering in the recording phase????? I'll be experimenting with that tomorrow so as I know my settings to do a decent recording with the least amount of surgery.. but Yeh great timing and vid.. don't even need to cross fade.. MAGIC!!! You’re actually illustrating what I meant by sometimes editing to a zero crossing can work better. I tend to agree - in the middle of an already quiet spot, there’s not a whole lot of difference. So glad somebody is putting this really useful info out there! Thanks for the callout Joe. I gotta say too, good on Studio One for this snap feature. Game-changer.

Would have been perfect last week, when I ditched an otherwise great vocal take because of a bad pop. So definitely a valuable tool to have going forward, because it will happen again, and I will have noticed j use after the vocalist has “left the building”.

One other cool thing no one is talking about? is that if you get the ES, then you get 6 months free Studio One +, BUT by buying another 6 month of + it becomes a Perpetual license! Pretty good deal I think. Did not try it myself yet but will order an ES soon :) Got the info from Rick Naqvi who is VP of sales on Fender :)

Very informative. I have another question about timing. I am an SP1200 user. It has a natural sync drift. After about two measures the timing goes off. It is ancient tech, I know. I have watched the video of you manually moving the grid to compensate but that take a while. I also use Cubase and there is a tempo a detection tool. That automatically snaps the grid to the SP1200's timing in one shot. Does Studio one also do this?

Nice! While I appreciate the ability to do surgery, I'd LOVE a button, tool or S1 widget(s) that could: remove clicks\pops, remove breaths, fix plosives on hard consonants (c, k, "h"...), lingering breathy-ness after a note i.e. a tool-set for this so we dont have to spend gargantuan time doing audio surgery OR spending a fortune buying really expensive 3rd party tools. Thank you.

After the latest update I couldn't find the tempo/timestretch feature in the top of the audiotrack inspector anymore. Found the right-click menu bottom item 'customize' and saw this option unchecked. Why???

Cool video! I remember you've covered color coding and changing colors in Studio One before. Could you please create a new video specifically focusing on how to change the color of the audio clip waveform (not the entire track color)? I'm particularly interested in setting the audio waveform to black for auditing mode and having it turn red when highlighted, similar to what can be done in Pro Tools. It would be great if you could demonstrate this with an example, perhaps on a yellow track you're currently working on, showing how the audio waveform changes from black to red when highlighted. Now you think people like me, a amateurs musician that are the most of your clients (some stage live, rehesal recording, basic composing) will go buy full S1 due to missing feats? I think you do, as list is growing.... Nah... I go back to Cubase in few months due to your aproach to Artist version. Also, as i'm here, let me also express that i got lower my trust in presonus by droping rm32/cs18 system with avb issue... most switched to dante (limited to 48k!) now you dont make any dante standard boards to r32... Nah... Just a waste of money with you.... ... You, presonus, don't care about the clients.

Hey Brother, I really need your help. I've posted the question on a lot of Presonus's videos on whether or not I can connect the ES 4 to an MPC One Live Workstation and use it as a Standalone Audio Interface? The MPC Key 37 which I have has vocal recording capabilities but requires an Audio Interface. Will it even work with the MPC Key 37 Workstation? I'd love to give the ES 4 a try with my MPC Key 37 Workstation, but I need to know if I can even use it for the vocals, AND, will I lose the pre-amp/ auto-gain capabilities with clipping reduction, when using it with my Standalone Workstation? Thank you so much!
